Works on the fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical machines, equipment, and tools. Has thorough technical knowledge of all phases of the activity. This is the highest individual contributor position. The role typically requires more than 5 years of experience.Summary / Objective:
The role possesses the desire for experience in problem solving and communication skills to work within a highly interactive and experienced team. The role will use reverse engineering techniques to automotive parts-components for the Aftermarket vehicles applied in North America.
Essential Functions:
- Product development for the Automotive Service and/or aftermarket. Development/design, specifications, and documentation.
- Support supplier engineering development, manufacturing process and validation of automotive parts-components product for Automotive Aftermarket applications.
- Support creating 3D&2D drawings, technical calculation, bill of materials creation and system management. (SYSPRO), cost, technical test reporting, managing development of supplier parts, and negotiating with other departments.
- Research materials and component technologies to scope development opportunities.
- Supports positive team interactions to accomplish program objectives.
- Applies technical expertise to problem solving throughout product lifecycle.
- Other duties can be assigned based on company needs and employee capabilities.

- Experience on Quality processes - ISO 9000
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional office environment. There is an on-site Engineering Lab area where the use of specialized testing and measuring equipment is often required.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times (occasionally).
- Utilizing engineering test and inspection equipment requires some dexterity and flexibility.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. To meet our customer demands and internal objectives, at times this role will be required to work outside of the normal schedule, including weekends.
Travel:
- 5% domestic travel is anticipated.
- The ability to travel overseas is required.
Required Education and Experience:
- BSME/BSEE (Mechanical Engineer) and a minimum of 5 years closely related experience or equivalent combination of education.
- Automotive Drivetrain and Powertrain knowledge, experience on applications and design variations to Chassis product, Suspension and Engine connections.
- Minimum of three years of product development experience.
- Proficient PC Skills (Microsoft Office, Solid Works, and other technical software)
- Language skills: English Fluent and Chinese (preferable, not mandatory-technical level)
